Family Selection &
Support Committee:
defines the population in need of decent, affordable housing and develops
processes and policies for selecting those in greatest need. Also helps
families manage problems associated with low income and helps them adjust to
homeowner-ship by providing them with a mutual support system, educational
opportunities and a forum for discussions.
Development Committee: assumes the leadership
for implementing the development (fund-raising) policies and goals of the board
of directors, and must develop a strategic plan for the affiliate’s development
efforts.
Site Selection Committee: defines the affiliate’s
focus area and works toward acquiring sites within it. It identifies potential
sites, implements the board-approved site acquisition policy, maintains
acquired sites, and works closely with the Construction committee.
Construction Committee: is responsible for (1)
working with the Site Selection committee to evaluate potential building sites,
(2) creating workable construction plans for our home projects, and (3)
developing a system for organizing families and volunteers for construction
Church Relations
Committee:
maintains a strong relationship with churches for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat
is a Christian organization that serves to witness to the gospel of Jesus
Christ by building houses with persons in need.
Safety Committee: has the on-going
responsibility of ensuring that the affiliate follows good safety practices at
all building sites.
Volunteer Committee: will provide vital
support and recognition for the affiliate’s volunteers.
Executive Board: Oversees the general
governance of FCHfH
