Carter Project Archives...

On Friday, August 31st, Fayette County Habitat for Humanity and partner family member Ms. Evon Carter, signed a mortgage for the first Habitat for Humanity home built in Fayette County.

With closing finalized, the Carter family will now take possession of the home as they continue their journey toward home ownership. Said Ms. Carter, “My prayers of becoming a homeowner have been answered.”

Mrs. Angela Beck, Attorney at Law, and volunteers for Fayette County Habitat for Humanity celebrated the momentous occasion with Ms. Carter.

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity is currently in the process of selecting the next partner family. The current community of residence of the selected family will determine which town in Fayette County will serve as the location for the next Habitat home.

Carter Home Status Report 7/3/07

The majority of the work left now is:

Tile work in the baths and flooring (we have a lead person to do this). We will pick up the bath tile this Friday. We can use a helper or two on Saturday, Wed. and Thurs.

Complete the furnace gas piping and exhaust  No help needed.

We will move the construction trailer to it's storage place this Thursday.  We have help to do this.

A very small about of trim work.

Mirrors and a tub enclosure.

 No help needed.

Then a little bit of base over the tile and carpet. One or two helpers needed.

The Hostyn group will complete the plumbing and exhaust piping.
That leaves a little painting, say two days for two people.

There is one more cabinet to be put in.  No help needed

The outside storage shed can be delivered on Friday.

We hope to have the laminate counter tops installed this Friday, if all goes well. No help needed.

We then can move in the appliances so maybe one helper needed the week after next.
